Section 705 - Classes of Amateur Contestants(a) Novice Class. Any contestant who has participated in three or less full-contact martial arts or kickboxing contests approved by the commission may be in the Novice Class.(b) Open Class. Any contestant who has participated in more than three full contact martial arts or kickboxing contests approved by the commission shall be in the Open Class.Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 4, § 705
