Section 1246 - General Provisions

All slaughter of poultry, with the exception of "Spent hens" and "Small game birds," shall be performed in accordance with approved methods of humane poultry slaughter as provided in this article. Violations of humane slaughter procedures specified in this article shall be cause for the suspension of inspection and revocation of the poultry slaughter establishment's license by the Branch Chief of the Meat, Poultry and Egg Safety Branch after the establishment's management has been given notice and an opportunity for a hearing.
