Cal. Code Regs. tit. 22 § 100065.10
"EMT Optional skills medical director" means a Physician and Surgeon licensed in California who is certified by or prepared for certification by either the American Board of Emergency Medicine or the Advisory Board for Osteopathic Specialties and is appointed by the LEMSA medical director to be responsible for any of the skills that are listed in Sections 100066.02(b) and 100066.04 of this Chapter including medical control. Waiver of the board-certified requirement may be granted by the LEMSA medical director if such physicians are not available for approval.
