(a) An applicant shall have the knowledge, ability, and willingness to comply with the applicable laws and regulations and: (1) Provide care and supervision appropriate to a "child," including communicating with the "child,"(2) Maintain or supervise the maintenance of all records that pertain to a "child" as specified in Section 89226, Safeguards for Cash Resources, Personal Property, and Valuables, and Section 89370, Children's Records,(3) Direct the work of others in providing care when applicable,(4) Apply the reasonable and prudent parent standard as specified in Welfare and Institutions Code sections 362.04, 362.05, 727, and Section 89377, Reasonable and Prudent Parent Standard,(5) Promote a normal, healthy, balanced, and supported childhood experience and treat a "child" as part of the family, to the extent possible,(6) Prepare a "child" for adulthood, and(7) Attend training and professional development.(b) An applicant for a foster family home license shall complete an orientation provided by the licensing or approval agency.Cal.
