Section 79707 - Laboratory Service Staff(a) A physician shall have overall responsibility for the clinical laboratory service. The physician shall be certified or eligible for certification in clinical pathology and/or pathologic anatomy by the American Board of Pathology or the American Osteopathic Board of Pathology. If such a pathologist is not available on a full-time, regular part-time, or consulting basis, a physician or a licensed clinical laboratory bioanalyst who is available on a full-time, regular part-time, or consulting basis may administer the clinical laboratory provided a pathologist, qualified as above, is available for consultation.(b) There shall be sufficient staff with adequate training and experience to meet the needs of the service being offered.Cal.
