Section 79629 - Nursing Service-Director of Nursing Service(a) The director of nursing service shall be a registered nurse and shall be employed eight hours a day, on the day shift, five days a week, except when supervision and training are required during other shifts.(b) The director of nursing service shall have at least one year of experience in nursing supervision within the last five years.(c) The director of nursing service shall have, in writing, administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability for the nursing services within the correctional treatment center and shall serve only one correctional treatment center in this capacity at any one time, except as provided in (d).(d) The director of nursing service may be responsible for more than one facility if the facilities are in the same geographic region, are operated by the same governing body, and a designated registered nurse is available on-site to perform the function of the director of nursing service.Cal.
