(a) If the plan utilizes nonphysician practitioners, members may select, be assigned to, or change such providers in accordance with the provisions of section 53890.(b) In all cases where a nonphysician practitioner is a member's primary care provider, the plan shall ensure that a primary care physician is responsible for the overall coordination of the member's health care, consistent with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.Cal.
