Section 50333 - Foster Children and Institutionalized Persons Placed Out-of-State(a) A child placed in out-of-state foster care maintains California residence if the child was placed under either of the following:(1) Through the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children.(2) By a state or county agency responsible for the child's care.(b) A person placed in an out-of-state institution by a state or county agency responsible for the person's care maintains California residence unless the other state accepts responsibility for the person.Cal.
