Section 599.680 - Termination of a Salary Above the Maximum

Authorization to compensate an employee at a rate above the maximum shall be terminated when:

(a) an employee leaves state service by resignation or separation for cause;
(b) the employee refuses a bona fide offer of permanent employment in a class in the same line of work two or more steps higher at the maximum or is unavailable for such employment, unless the Department finds the refusal to accept employment was reasonable under the circumstances.
