Section 56100 - Meaning of Words

A word or a phrase shall have its usual meaning unless the context or a definition clearly indicates a different meaning. Words and phrases used in their present tense include the future tense. Words and phrases in the singular form include the plural form. Use of the word "shall" denotes mandatory conduct. "May" denotes permissive conduct.

Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 17, § 56100

1. New subchapter 4.2 (articles 1-2), article 1 (sections 56100-56101) and section filed 6-29-98 as an emergency; operative 6-29-98 (Register 98, No. 27). A Certificate of Compliance must be transmitted to OAL by 10-27-98 or emergency language will be repealed by operation of law on the following day.
