(a) Each user shall establish, implement, maintain and keep current written operating and emergency procedures which shall include detailed instructions in at least the following matters: (1) The handling and use of radiographic exposure devices and the manner of employment to control and limit radiation exposures to individuals;(2) Methods and occasions for conducting radiation surveys;(3) Methods and occasions for controlling access to radiography areas;(4) Methods and occasions for locking and securing radiographic exposure devices, transport and storage containers and sealed sources;(5) Personnel monitoring and the use of personnel monitoring devices;(6) Steps that must be taken immediately by radiographic personnel in the event a pocket dosimeter is found to be off scale or an alarm ratemeter alarms unexpectedly;(7) Transporting sealed sources to field locations, including packing of radiographic exposure devices and storage containers in the vehicle, placarding of vehicles when needed and control of the sealed sources during transportation;(8) Procedures in the event of an accident, including sealed source handling, minimizing radiation exposure to individuals, and notifying proper persons;(9) Maintenance of records;(10) The inspection, maintenance, and operability checks of radiographic exposure devices, survey instruments, transport and storage containers and source changers; and(11) Source recovery procedures if licensee will perform source recovery.(b) Each user shall maintain a copy of current operating and emergency procedures until the Department terminates the license.
