Section 2577 - Mental Health Treatment Program(a) The mental health treatment required as a condition of parole by the board shall be inpatient unless the State Department of Mental Health certifies to the board that there is reasonable cause to believe the parolee can be safely and effectively treated on an outpatient basis, in which case the board shall permit the State Department of Mental Health to place the parolee in an outpatient program specified by the State Department of Mental Health.(b) Before deciding to seek revocation of the parole of a parolee receiving mental health treatment pursuant to Penal Code section 2962, and returning the parolee to prison, the parole agent shall consult with the Director of the parolee's outpatient program.Cal.
