Section 2401 - General

A life prisoner shall be considered for parole for the first time at the initial parole consideration hearing scheduled as provided in Section 2268. A parole date shall be denied if the prisoner is found unsuitable for parole under Section 2402(c).

A prisoner shall not be released before the minimum eligible parole date.
