Section 1683.1 - Consultation in Connection with a Geothermal Project(a) Prior to determining whether a Notice of Exemption, Negative Declaration, or EIR is required for a geothermal exploratory project, the Division shall consult with each Responsible Agency and Trustee Agency responsible for natural resources affected by the project.(b) In connection with a geothermal exploratory project, the Division shall consult with Responsible Agencies to discuss the scope and content of a proposed environmental document as soon as possible but not later than 30 days after the Division receives an application. The Division may waive this requirement if the project has no significant environmental impact or if the project sponsor agrees to mitigate all foreseeable environmental impacts.
