Section 272.04 - Disclosure to Low Speed Vehicle Buyer(a) A "low speed vehicle" is defined as having a maximum speed of not more than 25 miles per hour which complies with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.(b) A vehicle dealer, selling a low speed vehicle, shall provide a disclosure to be signed by the buyer at the time of purchase. The disclosure will include a statement that the vehicle: (1) Has a maximum speed of 25 miles per hour.(2) May be a hazard on the roadways if it impedes traffic.(3) May subject the driver to citations for impeding traffic.(c) The vehicle dealer shall give a copy of the signed disclosure to the buyer and keep the original with the business records of vehicle transactions.(d) Prior to the sale of a low speed vehicle, the dealer or manufacturer shall affix a permanent decal to the underside of the roof near the windshield on the driver side. (1) The decal shall be approximately 3 inches high by 5 inches wide.(2) The decal shall contain the disclosure statement information specified in (b).Cal. Code Regs. Tit. 13, § 272.04
