Section 5517 - Deadline for the Department to Approve or Deny the Applicant's Request for a Unique Serial Number
(a) For applications received before January 1, 2024, the Department will grant or deny the applicant's request for a unique serial number within 180 calendar days after it receives the application.
(b) For applications received on or after January 1, 2024, the Department will grant or deny the applicant's request for a unique serial number within 90 calendar days after it receives the application.
(c) The decision timeframe begins when the applicant's completed CFARS application has been paid for and is submitted to CFARS to commence the firearms eligibility check.
