Section R7-6-302 - Modification of Square Footage for Geographic FactorsA. The Board shall provide additional school facility square footage to a school district that has 100 or more students who: 1. Are transported one hour or more using the most reasonable and direct route; or2. Live 45 miles or more from the closest school using the most reasonable and direct route.B. If the Board provides additional school facility square footage under subsection (A), the Board shall make a conscientious effort to meet the Minimum Adequacy Guidelines without requiring an extraordinary expenditure of public funds.C. If an elementary school district that is not in a high school district unifies after June 30, 2005, the resulting unified school district may qualify for high school square footage under A.R.S. § 41-5741 if it meets the following criteria: 1. The resulting unified school district is projected to have more than 350 resident high school students being served by one or more school districts other than the students' resident school district within three years following the current fiscal year; and2. One of the following is true: a. At least 350 of the high school students in the unified school district would travel 20 miles or more to A receiving high school facility; orb. The receiving high school district is projected to need additional high school square footage within seven years. For purposes of this analysis, the projected average daily membership of the receiving high school district includes the high school students of both the receiving and sending school districts.Ariz.
