Section R4-6-602 - ExaminationA. The Board approves the marriage and family therapy licensure examination offered by the Association of Marital and Family Therapy Regulatory Boards. B. Except as specified in subsection (E), an applicant shall pass the approved examination within 12 months after receiving written examination authorization from the Board. An applicant shall not take the examination more than three times during the 12-month testing period.C. If an applicant does not receive a passing score within the 12 months referenced in subsection (B), the Board shall close the applicant's file with no recourse to appeal. To receive further consideration for licensure, an applicant whose file is closed shall submit a new application and fee.D. The Board may grant a one-time 90-day examination extension request to an applicant who demonstrates good cause as specified under R4-6-305(G).E. The Board shall deem an applicant for marriage and family therapist licensure to meet the examination requirement if the applicant holds an active and in good standing associate marriage and family therapist license issued by the Board pursuant to A.R.S. § 32-3274 or A.R.S. § 32-4302.Ariz.
