Section R18-4-101 - Authority and PurposeA. This Chapter is created under the authority of A.R.S. Title 49, Chapter 2, Article 9, and the federal Safe Drinking Water Act, 42 U.S.C. 300 f through 300j-26.B. The purposes of this Chapter include the following:1. To protect the public health and welfare by ensuring that all potable water distributed or sold to the public by public water systems is free from unwholesome, poisonous, deleterious, or other foreign substances, and filth or disease-causing substances or organisms; and2. To enable the state to maintain primary enforcement responsibility of the Safe Drinking Water Act, including the requirements of 40 CFR 141 and 142.Ariz. Admin. Code § R18-4-101
