Section 7 AAC 52.090 - Housing
(a) The orders of the local and state departments of health and of the fire marshal as they relate to items of health and safety shall be carried out.
(b) The superintendent shall strive to provide housing space sufficient to accommodate, without crowding, the number of residents likely to require care at any one time.
(c) Floors, walls, furniture and equipment must be kept in good condition and be of a character to permit easy cleaning.
(d) Arrangement of rooms must be such as to permit segregation according to sex, and as much as is practicable according to character and physical and mental condition.
(e) Sleeping rooms must be exterior rooms with sufficient window space to provide adequate light and ventilation.
(f) Beds must be kept at least three feet apart except in emergencies and must be individual units, except that "bunk beds" are acceptable.
(g) Each bed must have a mattress, sheets, pillow, and pillow case, as well as blankets. These items must be kept in a clean and sanitary condition.
(h) A facility shall provide each resident a place for the resident's individual items for personal hygiene, such as a towel, washcloth, toothbrush, and comb.
