Section 7 AAC 50.815 - Qualifications of caregiver staff
(a) In addition to the orientation and training described in 7 AAC 50.820, a caregiver employee in a residential psychiatric treatment center must have completed
(1) a bachelor's level degree program from an accredited college or university in a human services related field;
(2) at least six months of full-time work experience in residential treatment for children, inpatient long-term treatment for children, or other treatment of severely emotionally disturbed children and
(A) an associate level degree from an accredited college or university in a human services related field; or
(B) at least two years of college credit toward a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a human services related field;
(3) at least one year of full-time caregiver experience in residential treatment for children, inpatient long-term treatment of children, or treatment of severely emotionally disturbed children and a
(A) high school diploma; or
(B) general educational development diploma;
(C) repealed 1/29/2010;
(4) documentation of successful completion of no less than 100 hours of competency-based training provided by the caregiver's current employer, which at a minimum addresses the areas described in 7 AAC 50.820(c) (1) - (4), (c)(6) - (11), and a
(A) high school diploma; or
(B) general educational development diploma.
(b) In this section, "human services related field" means social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, nursing, guidance and counseling, sociology, special education, addictions and chemical dependency, behavioral or health sciences, or a closely related field.
