Section 7 AAC 35.130 - DefinitionsIn this chapter, unless indicated otherwise
(1) "department" means Department of Health and Social Services;(4) "embalm" means to chemically treat human remains to reduce the presence and growth of microorganisms, to temporarily inhibit organic decomposition, and to restore an acceptable physical appearance;(9) "funeral establishment" means every place or premises devoted to or used in the care and preparation for burial of the body or major portion of the body of a deceased person, or where dead human bodies are prepared for burial or other disposition;(11) "infectious disease" has the meaning given in AS 18.15.395.Eff. 2/21/71, Register 37; am 12/29/77, Register 64; am 12/29/2006, Register 180Authority:AS 18.05.040
