Section 7 AAC 12.103 - Determination of long-term acute care hospital

The department will consider a facility as a long-term acute care hospital if the department finds that the facility

(1) provides inpatient hospitalization for medical care of acute illness or injury for patients who have complex medical conditions and require long-term acute care;
(2) is located in close proximity to a general acute care hospital;
(3) meets the applicable requirements of 7 AAC 12.100 - 7 AAC 12.190 and 7 AAC 12.600 - 7 AAC 12.990;
(4) provides all of the services described in 7 AAC 12.105(c); and
(5) does not provide any of the following services:
(A) surgical service;
(B) anesthesia service;
(C) outpatient services;
(D) perinatal care;
(E) emergency services.
