Section 6 AAC 25.990 - DefinitionsIn this chapter, unless the context requires otherwise,
(1) "absent uniformed services voter" has the meaning given in 42 U.S.C. 1973ff-6;(3) "circulator" means a person circulating an initiative, referendum, or recall petition for the purpose of gathering signatures;(4) "disabled voter" means a person who is unable to get to the polling place because of severe illness, age, or disability;(5) "director" means the director of elections;(6) "division" means the division of elections;(7) "election official" means a qualified voter appointed by a regional elections supervisor to assist in the conduct of an election;(8) "electronic transmission" means delivery of a ballot by (A) facsimile transmission;(B) transmission through a website established by the director;(9) "member of the merchant marine" has the meaning given in 42 U.S.C. 1973ff-6;(10) "numerical identifier" has the meaning given in AS 15.80.010;(11) "overseas voter" has the meaning given in 42 U.S.C. 1973ff-6;(12) "uniformed services" has the meaning given in 42 U.S.C. 1973ff-6.(13) "voting equipment" means the state's electronic ballot tabulation system.Eff. 10/31/98, Register 148; am 12/15/99, Register 153; am 8/22/2004, Register 171; am 5/14/2006, Register 178; am 5/11/2012, Register 202; am 2/24/2022, Register 241, April 2022Authority:AS 15.07.050
