Section 5 AAC 92.040 - Permit for taking furbearers with game(a) The department may issue a permit to take furbearers by trapping with the use of game, furnished by the state, as bait. Procedures under which a permit will be issued are contained in Standard Operating Procedure II-025-3 (Confiscated Equipment/Salvaged Animals or Parts - nonedible meat and fish; permitting procedures to take furbearers with game), revised as of March 17, 2002, and are adopted by reference.(b) To be eligible for a permit, a person must either hold a trapping license issued by the department or be exempt from licensure under AS 16.05.400.(c) A person using game for bait under a permit issued under this section shall post a notice at the trap site indicating the permit number.Eff. 10/1/93, Register 127; am 4/2/94, Register 129; am 7/1/2002, Register 162Copies of Standard Operating Procedure II-025-3, adopted by reference in 5 AAC 92.040(a), are available for inspection at Department of Fish and Game offices in Juneau, Anchorage, and Fairbanks.
