Section 20 AAC 30.325 - Limitations(a) The expenses to be paid by means of an approved career opportunity grant must be incurred within the same fiscal year.(b) A career opportunity grant (1) is limited to (A) an impending, concrete opportunity that will significantly advance the work or career of the artist or arts professional for whom the grant is provided; or(B) a request of support from an artist or arts professional for a unique, short-term opportunity that does not constitute routine completion by the grantee of a work in progress; and(2) may not be used by the grantee to pay for (A) tuition, a workshop fee, meals, lodging, or local transportation; or(B) development of a body of work without a confirmed prior commitment for exhibit, publication, or presentation.Eff. 6/28/98, Register 146; am 9/7/2002, Register 163; readopt 7/1/2011, Register 198Effective 7/1/2011, Register 198, the Alaska State Council on the Arts readopted 20 AAC 30.325 to affirm the validity of that section after statutory amendments made in ch. 30, SLA 2010. Chapter 30, SLA 2010 made explicit the council's authority to adopt regulations consistent with AS 44.27.052(a)(6).
