Section 20 AAC 18.020 - Certification eligibility(a) An applicant for certification must be a resident of the state at the time of application and must remain a resident of the state while participating in the PSE program.(b) An applicant must meet the admission standards for the professional program of the participating school in which full-time enrollment is desired.(c) To be eligible for certification, an applicant must meet the eligibility requirements for a PSE loan under 20 AAC 18.025.(d) Before and during registration, a PSE student must notify the school of attendance of the student's certification status.(e) For purposes of this section, a person is a resident of the state if that person physically resides in the state and maintains a domicile in the state during the 12 consecutive months before the date of application for certification. Within that 12-month period, the person may be absent from the state for no more than 60 days. After residency is established under this subsection, the person may be absent from the state for full-time attendance at an educational or training institution, for military service, or for demonstrated good cause as determined by the commission.
