Section 2 AAC 92.200 - Records of department(a) Unless considered confidential by law, a certified or uncertified copy of a record made within the scope of duty of an employee or representative of the department, will be available during regular business hours upon request and payment of a reasonable fee equal to the cost to the department of copying the record. For the purposes of this subsection, "regular business hours" means 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for state holidays.(b) A record of an application for title and registration and records of the denial, suspension, or revocation of the title and registration, will be retained by the department for a period of 15 years following the final entry in the title history or registration file for a vehicle. After the 15-year period, the department may destroy under AS 40.21 a record with no further activity.(c) A copy of an individual vehicle record or a vehicle registration list may be obtained upon request and payment of fees as follows:(1) single vehicle record............ $10;(2) electronic record............ $5;(3) vehicle registration list............ $50 minimum fee for first 1,000 records, and an additional five cents for each record after the first 1,000 records.
