Section 17 AAC 42.065 - Firearms and prohibited weapons(a) A person may not carry a firearm or prohibited weapon in a department-operated terminal building or restricted area except in compliance with any other applicable law and(1) as authorized by this section;(2) as necessary to fulfill a legal requirement; or(3) as specifically permitted by law.(b) Before boarding an air carrier aircraft, a passenger transporting a firearm shall check the firearm, unloaded and encased in a closed container designed for transporting firearms, as or within luggage and notify the air carrier that the luggage contains a firearm.(c) In this section, (1) "firearm" has the meaning given in AS 11.81.900; and(2) "prohibited weapon" has the meaning given in AS 11.61.200.Eff. 1/14/2001, Register 157Authority:AS 02.15.020
