Section 12 AAC 44.060 - Organization and administration(a) A nursing education program must be an integral part of an accredited institution authorized by the State to confer credentials in nursing.(b) A nursing education program must have statements of purpose, philosophy, and objectives that are consistent with the law governing the practice of nursing.(c) A nursing education program must be organized with clearly defined authority, responsibility, and channels of communication.(d) A nursing education program must be administered by a registered nurse who is currently licensed in Alaska and who has at least a master's degree in nursing, and preparation or experience in administration, education, and clinical nursing practice.(e) The administrator of a nursing education program is responsible for: (1) the development and implementation of the curriculum;(2) preparation and administration of the budget;(3) recommendation for appointment, promotion, tenure, and retention of faculty; and(4) notifying the board of any major changes in the program or its administration.Eff. 10/14/72, Register 43; am 4/2/86, Register 97; am 11/7/87, Register 104Authority:AS 08.68.100
