Section 11 AAC 12.230 - Camping and boating(a) In a developed campground, a person may camp only at a developed campsite or in a designated camping space. A person may not camp within one-half mile of a developed campground or within one-half mile of a road in a state park, except as authorized by the director under 11 AAC 18.010, or as otherwise provided in 11 AAC 20.(b) A person may not camp in a developed campground for more than 15 consecutive days in a calendar year, unless authorized by the director under 11 AAC 18.010. If the director determines that a campground in a state park may be damaged or is subject to unusual demand, the director may limit camping at that campground to a period of less than 15 days. The division shall post notice of a time limit of less than 15 days in the campground.(c) After a vehicle or camping equipment has occupied a campground or campsite in a state park for the posted time limit or for 15 consecutive days, whichever is less, the vehicle or camping equipment must be removed from the state park and may not be returned to the state park for a period of 15 consecutive days.(d) The director may post campground rules to limit certain activities, or hours of activity, in established campgrounds for the purpose of preserving the public peace, safety, comfort, and convenience.(e) Every day that a person remains in a developed campground over the camping limitation constitutes a separate offense.(f) In a sleeping area or campground of a state park between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. daily or as otherwise posted, a person may not disturb other campers by making excessively loud noises or by the use of a motorized generator, radio, television, or stereo equipment, or any other machinery or device.(g) An annual day use parking pass decal, issued upon payment of the fee required by 11 AAC 05.170(b)(8) must be permanently affixed in plain view in the lower driver's side comer of a motor vehicle's windshield.(h) A person may not camp in an area of a state park where a sign prohibits that use.(i) An annual boat launching pass decal, issued upon payment of the fee required by 11 AAC 05.170(b)(4), must be permanently affixed in plain view to the left side of the boat trailer tongue, approximately one foot back from the hitch assembly. (j) Within a developed campground, a person may not leave food or a food container unattended outside a vehicle or in a place or manner reasonably accessible by bears. A state park officer may impound food or food containers left unattended outside a vehicle or in a place or manner reasonably accessible by bears.(k) A campsite must be vacated by 12 p.m. (noon), local time, unless the campsite fee for an additional 24 hour occupancy has been paid.(l) A person may not camp at the same location in an undeveloped area of a state park for more than 10 days in a calendar year, except as authorized by the director under 11 AAC 18.010. After a person has camped for up to 10 days at the same location in an undeveloped area of a state park, all camping equipment must be removed from that location and may not be set up or used again within one mile of that location during that calendar year.
