Section 582-X-2-.03 - General License Standards(1) Individuals may receive a license to practice midwifery in Alabama through application to the Alabama State Board of Midwifery(ASBM).(2) A midwife license shall be valid for a period of two years. Each license shall state on its face the expiration date. Renewal period is June 1 - July 1. Licenses that are not renewed as required will be cancelled.(3) A midwife's initial license might be fewer than two years but cannot exceed two years. Initial licenses issued prior to June 30 shall expire on July 1 the following calendar year, while licenses issued after July 1 shall expire on July 1 in the second calendar year from issue.Ala.
