Court's ruling: Operative Document: Motion to Appear Pro Hac Vice by attorney Priya Gandhi Ruling: Deny without prejudice Reason: CCP §1005(b) requires a minimum of 16 court days notice plus additional time depending upon method of service. At best, the motion was served 12 court days before hearing. The motion must be served on all parties and the California State Bar. The service on the State Bar is vague. Lastly, the caption of the motion is not in compliance with CRC Rule 3.1110(b) in respect to the location of the hearing. For these due process reasons the motion is denied. However, on a substantive basis, the motion appears to be in order and the motion would be granted. The hearing must be continued to allow for proper service and formatting of the caption.
