Union Parts Manufacturing Co., Inc.Download PDFNational Labor Relations Board - Board DecisionsAug 13, 194243 N.L.R.B. 121 (N.L.R.B. 1942) Copy Citation In the Matter of UNION PARTS MANUFACTURING COMPANY, INC., and INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF MACHINISTS, DISTRICT No. 15 Case No. R-3889 CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES August 13, 194 On June 20, 1042, the National Labor Relations Board issued a Decision and Direction of Election in this proceedings., In the Direc- tion of Election, the Board provided for an election'to be held among employees of Union Parts Manufacturing Company, Inc., Brooklyn, New York, to determine whether they desired to be represented by International Association of Machinists, District No. 15, affiliated with the -American Federation of Labor, or by Local 1225, United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America, affiliated with the Congress of Industrial Organizations, for the purposes of collective bargaining, or by neither. On July 15, 1942, before the. election was held, the Board granted permission to Local 1225, United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers of America, affiliated with the Congress of Industrial Organizations, the intervenor in this proceeding, to with- .draw its name from the ballot. This organization accordingly took no part in the election. Pursuant to the Direction of Election, as thus modified, an election by secret ballot was conducted on June 15, 1942, under 'the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Second Region (New York City). On July 23, 1942, the Regional Director, acting' pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served upon the parties an Election Report. No objections to the conduct of the ballot or to the Election Report have been filed by'any other parties. L., has been designated and selected by a majority of all production and non-supervisory maintenance employees of Union Parts Manufacturing Company, Inc.; Brooklyn , New York, including Antonio Huchla, Antony . Pekala, John' Grzebyck , Walter Kroliich,', Alexander Silun, Stephen Mlynarczy k, Kenneth Bienkowski , Stanis- law Akst, the shipping clerk, and the assistant of the shipping clerk; - but excluding watchmen , draftsmen ; the chief engineer , the messenger. boy, William Hartmann , John Wolters , Zygmunt Milwicz, John Ko ,zienko, Ferdinand Nowotony , Edward Wozniak , Maa Kurlandski, the foremen of the special production department , :and the truck driver; as their representative for the purposes of collective bargaining and that, pursuant to Section 9 (a) of the Act , International Association of Machinists , District No. 15,'A. F. L., is the -exclusive representative. of all such employees for the purposes of collective bargaining with respect to rates of pay , wages, hours-of employment , and other condi- tions of employment.
