R-837 and C-798 CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES October 27, 1939 On August 16, 1939, the National Labor Relations Board, herein called the Board, issued a Decision, Order, and Direction of Election Y in the above-entitled proceeding. On September 2, 1939, the Board issued an Amended Direction of Election.2 The Amended Direction of Election directed that an election be held within thirty (30) days from the date thereof under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Fifth Region (Baltimore, Maryland) among the production and maintenance employees of The Maryland Bolt and Nut Company, Baltimore, Maryland, whose names appeared on its pay roll immediately preceding the date of said Amended Direction of Election, including employees who did not work- during such pay-roll period because they were ill or on vacation and employ- ees who were then or had since been temporarily laid off, and also including Vernon Leach, Bernice Desser, and Howard Butler, but excluding other salaried and clerical employees, watchmen, fore- men, assistant foremen, and other supervisory employees, to deter- mine whether or not they desired to be represented by Steel Workers Organizing Committee, Local No. 2060, affiliated with the Commit- tee for Industrial Organization, for the purposes of collective bargaining. Pursuant to the Amended Direction of Election, an election by secret ballot was conducted on September 15, 1939, at Baltimore, Maryland, under the direction and supervision of the said Regional Director. On September 16, 1939, the Regional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, issued an Election Report, copies of which were duly served on the parties. I. 0.) 25 Total Number of Blank Ballots______________________________ 0 Total Number of Void Ballots ________________________________ 0 Total Number of Challenged Votes ___________________________ 0 By virtue of and pursuant to the power vested in the National Labor Relations Board by Section 9 (c) of the National Labor Rela- tions Act, 49 Stat. 449, and pursuant to Article III, Sections 8 and 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that Steel Workers Organizing Committee, Local No. 2060 , affiliated with the Committee for Industrial Organi- zation, has been designated and selected by a majority of the produc- tion and maintenance employees of The Maryland Bolt and Nut Company, Baltimore, Maryland , including Vernon Leach, Bernice Desser, and Howard Butler, but excluding other salaried and clerical employees , watchmen , foremen, assistant foremen , and other super- visory employees, as their representative for the purposes of collec- tive bargaining , and that pursuant to Section 9 (a) of the Act, Steel Workers Organizing Committee , Local No. 2060 , affiliated with the Committee for Industrial Organization , is the exclusive representa- tive of all such employees for the purpose of collective bargaining with respect to rates of pay, wages , hours of employment , and other conditions of employment.
