Pursuant to the Direction of Elec- tions, separate elections by secret ballot were conducted at each plant of Douglas Aircraft Company, Inc., namely, at the Santa Monica plant and at the El Segundo Division plant, on Novem- ber 8, 1939, under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Twenty-first Region (Los Angeles, California). On November 9, 1939, the Regional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regu- lations-Series 2, issued and duly served upon the.parties his Election Report. No objections to the conduct of the ballot or to the Election Report have been filed by any of the parties. Total number of void ballots______________________________ 0 By virtue of and pursuant to the power vested in the National Labor Relations Board by Section 9 (c) of the National Labor Relations Act, 49 Stat. 449, and pursuant to Article III, Sections 8 and 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations- Series 2, IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that United Aircraft Welders of America has been designated and selected by a majority of the employees of Douglas Aircraft Company, Inc., Santa Monica, California, who are engaged during more than 50 per cent of their working time as oxy- acetylene, oxy-hydrogen, and electric are welders employed to do fusion welding, as gas-torch cutters, and as helpers and apprentice welders, at each plant of the Company, namely, the Santa Monica plant and the El Segundo Division plant, exclusive of foremen and those in supervisory capacity, as their representative for the purposes of collective bargaining, and that pursuant to Section 9 (a) of the Na- tional Labor Relations Act, United Aircraft Welders of America is the exclusive representative of all such employees for the purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment, and other conditions of employment.
