C-660 and R-°?08 SUPPLEMENTAL DIRECTION OF ELECTION February 10; 191,0 On November 4, 1939, the National Labor Relations Board , herein called the Board , issued a Decision , Order, and Direction of Election in the above-entitled proceedings .' On November 16, 1939, the Board issued an Order and Amendment to Direction of Election.2 The Direction of Election , as amended , directed that an election by secret ballot be conducted at such time as the Board should in the future direct, under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Seventeenth Region (Kansas City , Missouri ), to determine whether the employees in the unit found by the Board to be ap- propriate , desire to be represented for the purposes of collective bargaining by United Packing House Workers of America, Local Union No. 10, of the Packing House Workers Organizing Committee, affiliated with the Congress of Industrial Organizations, or by Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butcher Workmen of North America, Local 574, affiliated with the American Federation of Labor, or by neither. The Board has since been advised by the Regional Director that an election may be appropriately held at this time. By virtue of and pursuant to the power vested in the National Labor Relations Board by Section 9 (c) of the National Labor Relations Act; 49 Stat . 449, and pursuant to Article III, Section 8, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series2, as amended , it is hereby DIRECTED that, as part of the investigation authorized by the Board to ascertain representatives for the purposes of collective bargaining with The Cudahy Packing Company, Kansas City, Kansas, an election by secret ballot shall be conducted as early as possible but not later than thirty ( 30) days from the date of this Supplemental Direction of Election , under the direction and super- 117 N.
