Pursuant to the Direction of Election, an election by secret ballot was conducted on March 24, 1942, under the direction and super- vision of the Regional Director for the First, Region (Boston, Massa- chusetts). On March 25, 1942, the Regional Director, acting pur- suant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served upon the parties his Election Report. No objections to the conduct of the ballot or to the Election Report have been filed by any of the parties. B 485 40 L. 11 B., No. 42 271 272 DECISIONS OF NATIONAL LABOR RELATIONS BOARD IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that the American Federation of Labor has been designated and selected by a majority of all hourly paid pro- duction and maintenance employees of South Portland Shipbuilding Corporation, South Portland, Maine, including truck drivers, guards, and watchmen (except the chief and captains at the Company's South Portland yard), but excluding foremen, assistant foremen, super- visory employees having the right to hire and fire, salaried em- ployees, office janitors, first-aid employees, timekeepers, counters, chauffeurs operating company cars and beach wagons, technical engi- neers, draftsmen, and architects, as their representative for the pur- poses of collective bargaining, and that, pursuant to the provisions of Section 9 (a) of the Act, the American Federation of Labor is the exclusive representative of all such employees for the purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of em- ployment, and other condition's of employment. 11 Copy with citationCopy as parenthetical citation
