C-1457 and R-1553 CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES August 8, 1940 On June 12, 1940, the National Labor Relations Board, herein called the Board, issued a Decision, Order, and Direction of Election in the above-entitled proceedings.' Thereafter, on July 8, 1940, the Board issued a Supplemental Direction of Election.2 Pursuant to the Direction of Election and the Supplemental Direction of Elec- tion, an election by secret ballot was conducted on July 23, 1940, under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Third Region (Buffalo, New York). On July 24, 1940, said Regional Direc- tor, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Re- lations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served upon the parties an Election Report. No objections to the conduct of the ballot or the Election Report have been filed by any of the parties. B., No. 38. 323429-42-vol . 26-28 421 422 DECISIONS OF NATIONAL LABOR RELATIONS BOARD IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that Flour, Feed and Cereal Workers' Federal Union No. 19184, affiliated with the American Federation of Labor, has been designated and selected by a majority of the hourly paid mill employees at the Buffalo, New York, plant of Ral- ston Purina Company, excluding supervisory employees, watchmen, chemists, laboratory workers, and the office force, as their repre- sentative for the purposes of collective bargaining, and that, pur- suant to Section 9 (a) of the National Labor Relations Act, 49 Stat. 449, Flour, Feed and Cereal Workers' Federal Union No. 19184, affiliated with the American Federation of Labor, is the ex- clusive representative of all such employees for the purpose of col- lective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of em- ployment, and other conditions of employment.
