ORDER APPROVING STIPULATION, SEVERING CASES,
AND PERMITTING WITHDRAWAL OF PETITION
September 4, 1942 -
The Board having, on February 21, 1942, issued a Decision and
Direction of Election in Case No. R-3406; I a stipulation, dated August
7, 1942, having been entered into by Prentice-Hall, Inc. ; Chadbourne,
Hunt, Jaeckel & Brown, (Attorneys for Prentice-Hall, Inc) ; Book
& Magazine Guild, Local 18, United Office & Professional Workers
of America, C. I. 0., also called Book & Magazine Union, Local 18
UOPWVA; Samuel Sacher, Esq. (Attorney for above-mentioned
Union) ; and a representative of the National Labor Relations Board,
and the said -stipulation having been expressly made subject to the
approval of the Board; and, thereafter, counsel for Book & Magazine
Guild, Local 18, United Office & Professional Workers of America,
C. I. 0., having requested permission to withdraw its petition in Case
No. R-3406, and the Board having duly considered the matters and
deeming it necessary in order to effectuate the purposes of the National
Labor Relations Act, -
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the said stipulation be, and it hereby is,
approved and made a part of the record in the above-entitled cases;
and,
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, in accordance with Article II, Section 36 (d),
and Article III, Section 10 (c) (4) of National Labor Relations Board
Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, that Cases Nos. R-3406
and II-C-4518 be, and they hereby are, severed; and,
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the request of the petitioner to withdraw
its petition in Case No. R-3406 be, and it hereby is, granted and that
the aforesaid case be, and it hereby is, closed.
