AMENDMENT TO DIRECTION OF ELECTION

On June 24, 1942, the National Labor Relations Board issued a
Decision and Direction of Election in the above-entitled proceeding 1
On July 6, 1942, Hotel and Restaurant International Alliance,
Local No. 781, affiliated with the American Federation of Labor,
notified the Board that it did not desne its name to appear on the
ballot in the election
IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the Dllectlon of Election be amended
by stn iking therefrom the words "to determine whether they desire
to be represented by United Cafeteiia Employees, Local No 471,
affiliated with the Congress of Industrial Organizations, or by Hotel
and Restaurant International Alliance, Local No 781, affiliated with
the American Federation of Labor, for the purposes of collective
bargaining, or by neither" and substituting therefor the words "to
determine whether or not they desire to be represented by United
Cafeteria Employees, Local No 471, affiliated with the Congress of
Industrial Organizations, for the purposes of collective bargaining "

sion and Direction of Election in this proceeding 1 On July 9, 1942,
the Board issued an Amendment to Direction of Election 2 Pursuant
to the Diiection of Election, as amended, an election by secret ballot
was conducted on July 15, 1942, under the direction and supeivision
of the Regional Director for the Fifth Region (Baltimore, Maryland)
On July 16, 1942, the Regional Dix ector, acting pursuant to Ai title
III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Boaid Rules and Regula-
tions-Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served upon the paities
an Election Report No objections to the conduct of the ballot or to
the Election Report have been filed by any of the parties

of all employees of H K Dickson, an individual doing business as
Navy Yard Cafeteria, Washington, District of Columbia, at the Navy
Yard cafeterias, including Barnes, Bariy, Jefferson, Frederick, Hans-
borough, Jackson, Willie Clay, Theodore Walters, Robert Mills, Horace
Hunt, Theodore Miller, Fieddie Mansfield, John Robinson, and Mat-
thew Jackson, but excluding employees who perform no manual duties,
cashiers, checkers, clerical help, managers, and supervisory employees
who have the authority to hire or discharge, as their representative
for the purposes of collective bargaining and that, pursuant to Section
9 (a) of the Act, United Cafeteria Employees, Local Industrial Union
No. 471, is the exclusive representative of all such employees for the
purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages,
hours of employment, and other conditions of employment.
