Jun. 3, 2011) Copy Citation Anchorage, AK UNITED STATES OF AMERICA BEFORE THE NATIONAL LABOR RELATIONS BOARD MUNICIPAL LIGHT & POWER Employer and Case 19-WH-00011 INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS, LOCAL 1547, AFL-CIO Petitioner CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVE AS BONA FIDE UNDER SECTION 7(B) OF THE FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT OF 1938 On March 4, 2011, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 1547, AFL-CIO filed with the Regional Director for Region 19 of the National Labor Relations Board a request for certification of representative as bona fide under Section 7(b) of the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 (FLSA), 29 U.S.C. Sec. 207(b). On March 10, 2011, the Regional Director served on the parties an Order to Show Cause why the Board should not grant the request. On March 22, 2011, the Employer filed a Notice of Non-Opposition. No other responses were filed. As the Region’s investigation revealed that the Union is recognized as the exclusive collective- bargaining representative of the unit employees,1 the Regional Director recommended to the Board that a certification be issued. No party having shown cause why a certification should not be issued, the National Labor Relations Board certifies that the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 1547, AFL-CIO, is a bona fide representative for purposes of Section 1 The recognition is embodied in the terms of the parties’ current collective- bargaining agreement, which is effective by its terms from October 1, 2008 through October 31, 2013. 2 7(b) of the FLSA, of the employees of Municipal Light & Power in the following classifications:2 Line Foreman, Service Foreman, Cable Splicer, Loopwagon Leadman, Journeyman Lineman, Cut-In/Cut-Out Lineman, Inspector, Apprentice Lineman, Working Mechanic Foreman, Journeyman Mechanic, Journeyman Mechanic/Welder, Vehicle Mechanic Helper, Vehicle Fueler, Relay/Substation Working Foreman, Relay/Substation Leadman, Relay/Substation Technician, Transformer Foreman, Transformer Journeyman, Working Meter Foreman, Meterman Leadman, Journeyman Meterman, Meterman Trainee, Head Warehouseman, Assistant Warehouseman, Warehouseman Trainee, Electronics/Communications Technician, Electronics/Communications Senior Technician, Electronics/Communications Foreman, Utility Electrician, Journeymen Facility Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Technician, Power Dispatcher, Power Dispatcher Trainee, Generation Plant Foreman, Generation Mechanic Foreman, Generation Electrical Foreman, Journeyman Operator/Mechanical, Journeyman Operator/Electrical, Operator/Mechanic Trainee, Generation Design Technician, Generation Technician, Accountant, Junior Accountant, Utility Technical Assistant, Customer Service Specialist, Credit Representative I, Credit Representative II, Utility Account Representative I, Utility Account Representative II, Utility Account Representative III, Utility Account Representative IV, Utility Account Specialist, Senior Clerk, Junior Clerk, Junior Clerk Trainee, Meter Reader Leadmen, Senior Engineer, Senior Engineer, P.E.
