AMENDMENT TO DECISION AND DIRECTION OF ELECTION September 16, 191 On September 4, 1942, the National Labor Relations Board, herein called the Board, Issued a Decision and Direction of Election in the above-entitled proceeding ' Thereafter, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, by its counsel, filed a petition for clarification of the unit and for temporary stay of election. Upon consideration of the matter, the Board hereby orders that the last sentence in Section IV, entitled "The appropriate unit," be deleted and in place thereof be inserted the following : We therefore find that all the'insurance- agents employed by the Company who are attached to and work out of district or de- tached offices in Wisconsin or who work exclusively in Wisconsin, including canvassing, regular, office account, and detached agents, but excluchng independent and retired agents, managers, -assist- ant managers, clerks, cashiers, secretaries, and other persons not agents, constitute a unit appropriate for the purposes of collec- ti ye bargaining within the meainmg of Section 9 (b) of the Act. And it is further ordered that insofar as the petition prays for a temporary stay of election, the petition is hereby denied. Mn.' GERArn D. Pursuant to the Direction of Election and Amendment, an election by secret ballot was conducted on October 2, 1942, under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Twelfth Region (Milwaukee, Wisconsin). On October 6, 1942, the Regional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Rekitions Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served upon the parties an Election Report on the ballot. No objections to the conduct of the ballot or the Election Report were filed by any of the parties.
