Case No. 8-3269 AMENDMENT TO DIRECTION OF ELECTION January 20, 1942 On December 12, 1941, the National Labor Relations Board, herein called the Board, issued a Decision and Direction of Election in the above-entitled proceeding,' the election to be conduced as early as possible, but not later than thirty (30) days from the date of the Direction of Election, under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Twenty-first Region. It appearing that a longer period within which to hold the election is necessary, the Board hereby amends the Direction of Election by striking therefrom the words "not later than thirty (30) days from the date of this Direction," and substituting therefor the words "not later than sixty (60) days from the date of this Direction." 137 N. ' Pursuant to the Direction' of ' Election, as amended, - an election by secret ballot was conducted 'on January 28, 1942, under the direction and supervision' of the Regional' Director for the Twenty-first Region (Los Angeles, California): On January' 29, 1942; the Regional' Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor' Relations Board Rules and Regulation's-Series 2, as amended, issued` 'and duly served upon `the' parties his' Election Report. By virtue of and pursuant to the power vested in the National Labor Relations Board by Section 9 (c) of the National Labor Relations Act, 49 Stat. 449, and pursuant to Article. III, Sections 8 and 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations- Series 2, as amended, IT is HEREBY CERTIFIED that United Brick & Clay Workers of Amer- ica, Elsinore Local 843, affiliated with the American Federation of Labor, has been designated and selected by a majority of all the employees of Los Angeles Brick & Clay Products Co., Los Angeles, California, at its plant and pits in Alberhill, California, excluding foremen and supervisors with authority to hire and fire, and office employees at said plant, as their representative for the purposes of collective bargaining and that, pursuant to Section 9 (a) of the Act, United Brick & Clay Workers of America, Elsinore Local 843, affili- ated with the American Federation of Labor, is the exclusive repre- sentative of such employees for the purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment, and other conditions of employment.
