ROCK FURNITURE MANUFACTURING COMPANY and UNITED FURNITURE WORKERS OF AMERICA, LOCAL 286, AFFILI- ATED WITH CONGRESS OF INDUSTRIAL ORGANIZATIONS Case No. R-3582 SUPPLEMENTAL DECISION AND CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES May 8, 1942 On March 18, 1942, the National Labor Relations Board, herein called the Board, issued a Decision and Direction of Election in the above-entitled proceedings.,, Pursuant to the Direction of Election, an election by secret ballot was conducted on April 7, 1942, under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Fifteenth Region (New Orleans, Louisiana). On April 9, 1942, the Regional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served upon the parties an Election Report on the ballot. O________________________________ 67 Votes cast for no union____________________________________ 3 On, April 16, 1942, United Furniture Workers of America, Local 286, affiliated with the Congress of Industrial Organizations,, filed Objections to the Election Report. On May 2, 1942, the Regional Director issued a Report on Objections finding that the.objections had no substantial effect on the results of the election. We have 139 N. L. R. B. 892. 40 N. L. R. B., No. 217. 1228 LITTLE ROCK FURNITURE MANUFACTURING COMPANY 1229 considered the objections and the Regional Director's report thereon and find that the objections raise no substantial or material issues with respect to the conduct of the ballot. The objections are hereby overruled. By virtue of and pursuant to the power vested in .the National Labor Relations Board by Section 9 (c) of the National Labor, Rela- tions Act, 49 Stat. 449, and pursuant to Article III, Sections 8 and 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that Upholsterers International Union of North America, affiliated with the American Federation of Labor, has been designated and selected by a majority of all production and maintenance employees of Little Rock Furniture Manufacturing Company, Little Rock, Arkansas, including watchmen, firemen; truck drivers, truck washer, inspectors, stockman, and assistant shipping clerks, but excluding supervisory, office, and clerical employees, sales- men, 0. M. Whitfield, Virgil Cole, and E. Lambert, as their repre- sentative for the purposes of collective bargaining, and that, pursuant to Section 9 (a) of the Act, Upholsterers International Union of North America, affiliated with the American Federation of Labor, is the exclusive representative of all such employees for the' purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of employment, and other conditions of employment. ^ ^ i Copy with citationCopy as parenthetical citation
