Pursuant to the Direction of Election an election by secret ballot was conducted on May 20, 1942, by -the Regional Director for the Thirteenth Region (Chicago, Illinois). On May 22, 1942, the Regional Director, acting pursuant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations- Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served upon the parties his Election Report. No objections to the conduct of the ballot or to the Election Report have been, filed by any of the parties. As to the balloting and its results, the Regional Director reported as follows: Total on eligible list________________________________________ 172 Total ballots cast___________________________________________ 141 Total ballots challenged_____________________________________ 12 Total blank ballots_________________________________________ 0 Total void ballots__________________________________________ 0 Total valid votes counted____________________________________ 129 Votes cast for International Brotherhood of Firemen and Oilers, affiliated with the American Federation of Labor____________ 48 Votes cast against International Brotherhood of Firemen and Oilers, affiliated with the American Federation of Labor ----- 81 The results of the election show that-no collective bargaining repre- sentative has been selected by a majority of the employees of the Com- pany in the unit heretofore found to be appropriate for collective bargaining.
