DANG, LARRY J. HUME, and LINZY T. McCARTNEY, Administrative Patent Judges. DANG, Administrative Patent Judge. DECISION ON APPEAL Appeal2015-001883 Application 12/804,803 I. STATEivIENT OF THE CASE Appellant appeals under 35 U.S.C. § 134(a) from the Examiner's Final Rejection of claims 1-20, which constitute all the claims pending in this application. We have jurisdiction under 35 U.S.C. § 6(b). We affirm. A. INVENTION According to Appellant, the invention relates to "devices having displaying capabilities and more particularly to such devices that comprise at least two displays, wherein user interface is presented" (Spec. 1, 11. 11-13). In particular, the invention is directed to adapting display data (presentation) between different sizes of displays (Spec. 1, 11. 27-28), for example, between a "PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) display" (a "wide" screen) and a "phone display" (a "narrow" screen) (Spec. 4, 11. 25-27). B. ILLUSTRATIVE CLAIM Claim 1 is exemplary: 1. A method comprising: displaying graphical user interface content on a display of an electronic device; based opening the electronic device, activating another display; in response to activation of the other display, displaying a changed layout of the graphical user interface content on the other display, wherein the changed layout is based on a characteristic of the other display. 2 Appeal2015-001883 Application 12/804,803 C. REJECTIONS 1. Claims 1-20 stand rejected under 35 U.S.C. § 102(e) as being anticipated by Gioscia (US Patent No. 6,850,780, issued Feb. 1, 2005). II. ISSUE The principal issue before us is whether the Examiner erred in finding that Gioscia teaches the claimed "displaying a changed layout of the graphical user interface content on the other display" in response to the activation of the other display (claim 1 ). III. FINDINGS OF FACT The following Findings of Fact (FF) are shown by a preponderance of the evidence. Gioscia 1. Gioscia discloses a dual-sided display, wherein in a closed state, the form for a typical cellular telephone is used, while in an open state, the form for a typical personal digital assistant (PDA) with an enlarged viewing area is used (Abst.).
