CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES
July 11, 1940
On June 6, 1940 , the National Labor Relations Board issued a
Decision and Direction of Election 1 and on June 17, 1940 , an Amend-
ment to Direction of Election ,2 in the above-entitled proceeding. Pur-
suant to the Direction of Election , as amended , an election by secret
ballot was conducted on June 27, 1940, under the direction and super-
vision of the Regional Director for the First Region (Boston, Massa-
chusetts ). On June 28 , 1940, the Regional Director , acting pursuant
to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules
and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, issued and duly served upon
the parties his Election Report. Full opportunity to participate in
the conduct of the election and to make challenges was afforded all
parties. No objections to the conduct of the ballot or to the Election
Report have been filed by any of the parties. ,
As to the balloting and its results , the Regional Director reported
as follows :

National Labor Relations Board Rules ' and Regulations-Series 2, as
amended,
IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that Associated Shoe Workers, Inc., has been
designated and selected by a majority of the employees of the Chris
Laganas Shoe Co., excluding foremen, assistant foremen, officers,
watchmen, mechapics engaging in construction and repair work on
machines, salesmen, and all other factory help not engaged in the
routine operations or processes of shoe manufacture , as their repre-
sentative for the purposes of collective bargaining , and that, pursuant
to Section 9 (a) of the National Labor Relations Act, Associated Shoe
Workers, Inc., is the exclusive representative of all such employees
for the purposes of collective bargaining ' in respect to -rates of pay,
wages, hours of employment , and other conditions of employment.
MR. WILLIAM M. LEISERSON took no part in the consideration of the
above Certification of Representatives.
