AMENDMENT TO DECISION AND DIRECTION OF
ELECTION
August 28; 1942
On August 11, 1942, the National Labor Relations Board, herein
called the Board , issued a Decision and Direction of,Election in the
above-entitled proceeding.' The Board therein found that all em-
ployees in the heating department ( Department 90) at the Company's
Peoria plant, excluding supervisory employees , constitute a; unit
appropriate for the purposes of collective bargaining, within the
meaning of Section 9 ( b) of the Act.
During the hearing, the parties had stipulated that employees of
the Company who work the greatest portion of their time during the
year in the heating department, but who are temporarily transferred
to other departments during the summer , should be permitted to vote
in any election , held among the heating department employees, since
they would be returned to their regular employment in the heating
department within a reasonably short time . These temporarily
transferred employees are clearly part of the heating department
unit heretofore found appropriate by the Board , and the finding as
to the appropriate, unit in the Board's Decision and Direction of
Election issued August 11 , 1942, is hereby amended to read as follows :
We find that all employees in the heating department ( Depart-
ment 90) at the Company 's Peoria plant , including employees 'te'mpo-
rarily transferred from the heating department to other departments,
but excluding supervisory employees , constitute a unit appropriate
for the purposes of 'collective bargaining , within the meaning of
Section 9 (b) of the Act.
