Pursuant to the Direction of Election, an elec- tion by secret ballot was conducted on June 9, 1942, under the direction and supervision of the Regional Director for the Ninth Region (Cin- cinnati, Ohio). On June 11, 1942, the Regional Director, acting pur- suant to Article III, Section 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, issued an Election Re- port, copies of which were duly served upon the parties. No objections to the conduct of the ballot or to the Election Report have been filed by any of the parties. As to the balloting and the results thereof, the Regional Director reported as follows : Total on eligibility list___________________________________ 131- Total ballots cast_________________________________________ 127 Total ballots challenged__________________________________ 0 Total blank ballots_______________________________________ 0 Total void ballots_________________________________________ 0 Total valid votes counted_________________________________ 127 Votes cast for Steel Workers Organizing Committee --------- 73 Votes cast against Steel Workers Organizing Committee----- 54 Upon motion duly filed by United Steelworkers of America praying that the name "United Steelworkers of America" be substituted for the name "Steel Workers Organizing Committee"' in the caption and relevant portions of the record. in this proceeding, the Board, on August 3, 1942, issued and duly served upon the parties its notice to 141 N L R B 20 43 N. No sufficient cause to the contrary having been shown, the Board hereby grants the motion to substitute the name "United Steelworkers of America" for the name "Steel Workers Organizing -Committee." We accordingly correct the caption and will certify the United Steelworkers of America as exclu- sive bargaining representative. - CERTIFICATION OF REPRESENTATIVES By virtue of and pursuant to the power vested in the National Labor Relations Board by Section 9 (c) of the National Labor Relations Act, 49 Stat. 449, and pursuant to Article III, Sections 8 and 9, of National Labor Relations Board Rules and Regulations-Series 2, as amended, IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED that United Steelworkers of America, affiliated with the Congress of Industrial Organizations, has been designated and selected by a majority of all production and maintenance employees at the Curtis Avenue and Lincoln Street plants in Columbus, Ohio, of Case, Crane & Kilbourne Jacobs, Columbus, Ohio, excluding the su- perintendent, foremen, assistant foremen, supervisory employees in charge of any class of labor, any employees having the right to hire or discharge, all salaried employees, clerical workers, and watchmen,-as their representative for the purposes of collective bargaining, and that, pursuant to Section 9 (a) of the Act, United Steelworkers of America, affiliated with the Congress of Industrial Organizations, is the exclusive representative of all such employees for the purposes of collective bargaining in respect to rates of pay, wages, hours of em- ployment, and other conditions of employment. - - 11 Copy with citationCopy as parenthetical citation
